hello. i recently bought an asus p4p800 vm, no biggie but it was only 100 bucks. my dad broke his motherboard so i just wanted to fix it but with better than what it had. the only problem is that the power led and switch pins on the motherboard are different from the connecter that is on the hp case. if anyone knows of any ways to connect or if there is a harness you have to buy let me know please. thanks
well thats not the problem. i know where they go but its a aftermarket mobo so the case wires arent really setup? should i just cut and solder?
Look to what HP says their MB shows for pin assignment for Power, LED, and Reset. Then break apart the solid pin connection that came with the HP case and go from their. An easier solution is to just buy a new case since they are very cheap. By the way, the HP is the problem, not the pin layout of an Asus MB. Good luck
yea i know its the case. it was setup for that mobo not an asus or others. i dont need to know the pin layout of the old mobo just the wires coming from the power switch on the case so i can connect them to the asus mobo. but i wasnt sure if there was another little connector i had to buy becuase the case connector is this : ------ or so. and the asus pins for the power is: ---- ----- or so. i guess ill just hard wire them for now.
o wait a minute i think i know what your talking about. break apart the connector on the case so there in singles like on the axt cases? then just plug in seperatly? theyre that easy to break? thanks
or just take out the pin connector inside and connect it.find out which one the pin connector is from the hp site from the manual.you should be ablre to download it....peace...cut it with a knife if you have to or cut wire install new connector
