i use the memorex dvd+rw discs to copy ps2 games. when i put them in my ps2, the screen says, "please insert a playstation or playstation 2 format disc." why wont it work?
For the longest time you had to buy a mod chip for the Sony PS2. This mod chip allowed the PS2 to read a burned disc. Without it, it refuses to recognize a burned disc in the drive. Try doing a Google search for "PS2 mod chip" and start lookiing around. The best chips come from Canada, and are usually around $20 with shipping included.

Agrees with above mebers on info they gave you, this should have been put in the PS2 forum. But in order to play backup PS2 games you need to either hardmod the PS2 or buy swap magic with a slide tool or fliptop to boot the backups.
