k, got the comp built with a motherboard processor, hdd, RAM, vid card and cd drive. The comp turns on and everything runs smoothe, except i get no graphical out put, the monitor says it isnt recieving a signal, any tips?
Does the motherboard have on-board video? If so you would need to disable it in the bios. Then you would need to install the drivers for your video card. Hope this helps
theres no os, havent gotten anythng to come up therefore i cant install anything, no its not on board, its a radeon 9000 64 mb
disconnect all cables to drives, remove all cards except for videocard & 1 stick of ram & reseat those. make certain the cmos jumper is in normal position & not in clear position. reseat power cable to motherboard. try another agp or pci videocard
disconnect all cables to drives, remove all cards except for videocard & 1 stick of ram & reseat those. done, now the comp wont turn on at all... make certain the cmos jumper is in normal position & not in clear position. whats a cmos jumper? reseat power cable to motherboard. try another agp or pci videocard done. no difference
I would remove your motherboard completely and check the grounding posts are not cutting into any tracks. By removing it and testing it that way, you can eliminate that possibility. BTW:Be careful if you do it though as there can be hazardous voltages around, and also use ESD precautions when handling ciruit boards..............
thanks so far guys, but none of it seems to be working, think maybe if the ram were the wrong speed it would cause this problem?
k i just got unlazy and checked that cmos jumper and it was in the clear position, but, now im getting a good LED feed when the comp is off, (meaning the light is red) and then when i press the on button nothing happens....anything?
because cmos jumper was in wrong position during powerup the bios might be buggered. disconnect the power cord from the case, put cmos jumper in clear position, count 10secs than put back to normal postion. reconnect the power cord, turn on computer, posts results. if still no post hopefully board still under warranty. who built the computer??
i built it, for right now im going to go to sleep, i have school tomorrow so i will post results tomorrow, think the mobo might be messed up now?
possibility. this is not meant as an insult but always do a R.T.F.M.D.(Read.The.F***ing.Manual.Dummy.) before working & powering up a board for the 1st time.
try all the other stuff again to see if might post. if board is still under warranty than get it replaced but take cpu with you so they can install it & powerup the board on testbench with you present.
k well i called the manufacturer and theyre replacing it but they gave me an RMA (return mailing address) so ill be mailing it and getting a replacement....please post any tips for safe installation this time, besides reading the mobo manual front to back and twice over again...
