Firt off i'm sorry if this has been asked 100 times beofe me but i'm really new to this kind of stuff so i really need your help. I'm trying to make a backup of Sin City (i am aware of it's audio problems) I am using DVD decryptor and DVD shrink. The movie is too big to burn onto a DVD+R so i tried to burn it onto a DVD+R DL. But it was half way through buring there were a bunch of errors and stopped burning. My comupter is less than a week old. It has a Lightscribe DVD+RW. I though it could burn a DVD+R DL...do i need to update my firmware? I bought FUJIFILM DVD+R DL. Or is therea better eaiser way to burning this movie? This is onlt my second times backing up a movie. Thanks a lot for your help.
I think this is one of those movies with a lot of garbage files. Your best bet would be to use DVD Decrypter to rip then DVD Shrink to reduce the size. Take out extra audio and change some things to still images that you will not need. If the compression is around 70% for the main movie, then put it on a DVD5 disc. As for DVD+DL, I would recommend a firmware update. Also, do not try to burn at 8x. Limit yourself to 4x on all discs. Find out your burner model along with the firmware version and then someone will come along to guide you.
I burned it to a DL disc, with DVD Decrypter, without a problem. Did you try cleaning the original movie disc? There may be a fingerprint on it. I also have AnyDVD running in the background. That may be the difference, if you don't have it. You can download a 21 day free trial. Give it a try. That's the ONLY way of doing some of the newer movies, since Shrink and Decrypter are no longer being updated. Good luck! Your Fuji discs should be good ones. I burn all my single layer discs at 8X, but my DL discs burn at 2.4X.
Hey thanks a lot guys I got it to work perfectly. I took out unwanted audio (DTS, French 5.1) and i got it to fit onto a DVD+R. Thanks a lot, you guys made my day.
