I bought a Starview 2 box off of eBay which arrived today. eBay Link

Apparently the software is already loaded and all I'm suppose to need to do is plug in the power supply, link to TV using scart lead and then connect the cable to the Starview 2.
All done... Turn on, English was clicked as Language, scroll to Installation, Auto Search... Failed Channels.

I tried all providers and all channels Failed.

Confused as to what I'm suppose to do. I have one downstairs, Starview 1, and it works fine. Now trying to set up in my bedroom... Nothing.

    Hi
Make sure your cable supply lead is plugged into the correct socket at the back, ie Cable in and not uhf/tv input. (Easy Done) Have you tried it on your main Cable (Downstairs)? (Not through a splitter)

    Hi.
I took it downstairs to the TV down there and all worked fine.
Took it back upstairs with the channels all found on my Starview 2 and then all channels now say "No Signal!" or "Scrambled".
    No channels work at all.

    Hi
    So your S/V is ok
No signal = 'as it says' so must be the cable or a cable connection fault or splitter not working or not suitable into your upstairs cable. Try upstairs without a splitter, then new cable to upstairs.

Thanks for the replies so far. Greatly appreciated...

The cable I'm using at the moment should work fine because...

    1) Once the cable is plugged directly in to the TV it picks up terrestrial channels perfect.

    2) Once the cable is plugged directly in to the Freeview box I have it's picks up loads of channels perfect.

But as soon as it's plugged in to the Starview 2, no signal...

    Hi
I am getting a bit confused now, Are you talking 'Freeview Terrestial' which is aerial on roof reception here in UK or Cable which is Landline fiber optic cable from ie Virgin,Ntl,Telewest etc. (The Starview box is for Cable), NOT freeview Terrestial hence it won't pick up any Freeview channels.
But if it works downstairs like you say, use it downstairs. You must have cable downstairs and Terrestial upstairs

So there could be two TV cables coming in to my house right?

1 for normal TV without paying...

and 1 for cable which I pay for which is Telewest?

Sounds like you have not got it flashed with the correct firmware, press, menu, system info and post what it says.
