I have an ILO DVD Recorder, and lately have been having trouble just formatting the disc, and it stops on 98% every time and says error, is there any help you can give me on this? Thanks.

I gather by tour post that the unit was mfg in 2005 and at 8 mos I would think it's a 05. But is the unit a ilo 05 series or an 05 series. Reason I ask is to identify the product. for any responce to your post
The 04 series was LiteOn, The 05 series a Cyberhometh. The 05ZU had problems of its own.
I had all the 05 units ZU, MU, MU1 for a short period and they did work fine with no problems. Ive had two RHD04 and one R04 for two years. One time I had a RHd04 do as you describe
It was a defective disk media.
First the 04 and 05 are +R/RW only units. Neither will work properly with a - disk
I have mostly used Verbatim disks but have used Maxell and Memorex.
I would try a different brand of disk than you have
It could also be that the burner has a dirty laser or is defective.
you could try cleaning the laser, but many who have tried this have had limited success.
Frankly if someone doesn't chime in with a reasonable and lasting fix
I would contact your WalMart store [Not ilo05 service] and tell them that you want it repaired under the warranty and do not want to pay anything. Go through the Store and Stand tough with them
