I've been working with this program for almost a year and never had a problem before. This past sunday my harddrive crashed and after 're-installing' TMPGenc I get an error message after 31% of encoding. It's one of those 'TMPGenc has occured a problem and has to be shut down'. I have tried several different files but it was always the same. I use an avi video file (virtual dub) and a wav audio file (goldwave) to merge into an mpeg file but like I said I've never had a problem before. With the TMPGenc 3.0 XPress version, the same error comes up but it says it's the VFAPI plugin who's causing a problem and shuts down.
Never mind, I figured it out. It was a divx codec problem so I uninstalled that codec and I just finished encoding that same file that I've been trying to work on for 5 previous times. Funny thing is, I could've sworn I had that codec installed before my HD crashed but oh well....
