I bought a Nokia 6103 cell phone, which came from T-Mobile (and is labeled as so). It is my understanding that you can simply swap sim cards out and use the phone under your plan. My carrier is Cingular, but was told my card would work in the Nokia. However, after inserting my sim card and powering up, I got a "Phone Restricted" message, with the "undo" option. If you choose the "undo" option, it asks you to "Enter restriction code". I haven't entered anything, as I have heard a wrong code my possibly lock the phone completely. First, will I be able to use the phone with my Cingular account? Second, what restriction code do I need to enter? Here are the specs on the phone: Nokia 6103b Type RM-162 IMEI: 35937/00/506180/1 Network: T Mobile Country: United States Thanks for the help!
Sorry about, I missed a digit in the IMEI number. Here's how it should have been listed: IMEI: 359371/00/506180/1 Should I enter *#06# at the "restriction code" page?
Thanks for the information. Is there any need to enter a code at the "enter restriction code" screen when I power up with my sim card? Or, should I stop asking questions, take my sim card out, and follow your instructions? I just want to make sure I don't permanently lock this phone. Thanks again!
