help with updated firmware

    I took the advice of many and updated firmware today. the problem now is i auto scanned to get new channels and all i get is bad or scrambled channels.would the code 2004 have changed cuz i`ve updated firmware?

    why did you scan again? when you update the firmware, this doesnt effect your channels at all. press menu and then 1570 to see if this works.

    depending on what firmware you downloaded, 2.57 fixed for clones and V4 will let you into the CAS menu. you dont state what box you have or what you uploaded to it, so its a bit hard trying to help

    its a starview box - genuine- a friend updated it 2.59.i`m a novice so i don`t know anything about it

    why he load 2.59, you wont get into the CAS menu with this firmware? The most up to date file is V4 for Genuine boxs, look in Eamos files below for V4.

    errr daft question, what firmware version should i download and update my starview box?

    You will need version 4.00 firmware for GENUINES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.
    You will need version 2.57_FIXED firmware for CLONES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.

    You will need to know if you have a clone or genuine

    Count the vents on top

    18x7 = Clone
    25x7 = Genuine
    13x7 = 1st Generation
