Help with Video Card on laptop?

    Does anybody know about how to install a video card on a laptop?
    DOes laptop and destop pc use the same type of video card?
    If different, then what type of video card is it using?
    My laptop is a Sony Vaio, it have a ATI Radeon IGP 345M 64MB (Shared), i want a radeon 128MB+ on it for games.

    dang it cause i really want a better video card somebody else know bout this, we can upgrade the memory card then there must be way to upgrade the video card

    most laptops are not upgradeable except for ram, hd & maybe cpu. what is the make & model# of the laptop so can check the info on it.

    Yeah ddp is right. Theres like a closed market on laptops.
    I guess the companies figured they lost the war on customizing desktops..they'll hold on to upgradable creativness for as long as they can. LOL.

    My laptop is a Sony Vaio model PCG-K45 Intel Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, 512 Ram, and a Internal ATI Radeon IGP 64mb(Share), please find it out for me please cause a friend of my said his dad laptop did get a new video card. Please help

    yeah it my laptop, but how do you know that it not able to upgrade>>show me

    go thru the link i posted & check faq & read the marketing specs. did they actually replace his onboard video if his laptop is same as yours or did they increase the onboard ram shared amount to higher. if wanting to play highend games than don't get a laptop as they go obsolete faster than a tower/desktop computer & more expensive to upgrade.

    You CANNOT simply upgrade the video on a laptop. The cards are proprietary to that specific model of laptop, and they don't make different options. That said, there are maybe 2 companies making laptops with upgradable video, since PCI-express came out. Dell had one, and Alienware or Voodoo PC does as well also.

    Sorry, you can't do it. Sony doesn't make a single laptop that you can upgrade the video card.

    oh vman that suck than i can't play game with my laptop then, shit i thought i could've upgrade it so i bought this laptop i think they will fingure a way to upgrade it

    don't count on it. if want to play games than get a desktop computer as it is a hell of a lot easier to upgrade & cheaper than a laptop.
