Ok I finally did it..I got my movie to work on the dvd player..

I used Virtualdub to cut it and the i cut the first part and used nero to burn it as VCD and it worked...then i closed virtualdub by accident..forgetting to do the second part of the movie i cut.

So now when i use virtualdub and i open the source .avi movie i get an error saying..

couldn't locate decompressor for format(xVid) or something...whats going on?

    thnx

Very strange. VirtualDub gives this error if you don't have Xvid, which is very difficult to believe because you cut the AVI.

Just to be sure this is not a problem due to a bad closing, re-start your computer, then try again. Or try to load thah AVI with what you prefere , also a movie encoder.
Or , finally, un-unstall and then re-install Xvid (is free!) and reboot, and try again..

In the case you're still in trouble, since you still have the 'full AVI'. In this case we can solve it.
In any case, load the 'Source AVI' with GSpot and tell here what it says.

But VirtualDub spoke of Xvid, not DivX. Do you have it?
Just to be sure, what GSpot says?
