I recently decided to downgrade to xp as my laptop was not running very well. vista was pre installed when i bought my laptop, but being a bottom of the line hp its max ram is only 2gigs. after getting not responding messages and my comp locking up and doing more then surfing the web and chatting on IM it would over heat and shut off even with it being propped up and the fan area being clear. so heres my problem, my comp has the nvidia chipset made for vista and i cant find the drivers online as i cant remember what model it is, so my scrole rate is slow and i have no sound. windows update is not finding anything online and when my comp boots i get new device found but i cant do anything with it as i dont have a cd for it. i would like to keep xp if i can, but if i have to go back to vista i will but since i formatted and reinstalled xp over top of vista will the recovery cd i have work or do i need to go and pick up the vista upgrade cd? system info: Compaq Presario F700 AMD Athalon 64X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-57 1.90 GHz 960 MB of RAM XP home SP3
