HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ok, I just installed my dvd burner and under "add new hardware" it is displaying it as a CD-ROM.....plz help.

    Also, even under "My Computer" it says that it is a CD-Rom and I cant even play DVDs on it at all and believe me it is a DVD burner.

    Mine also says it's a CD drive. Under "My Computer" right click on your "CD drive" . Then click on "Properties". Then Click on the "Hardware tab". Is your DVD burner listed there? It should be.
    [bold]Here's the long way around:[/bold]
    Your can also check by going to your "Control Panel" click on "Performance and Maintenance" and then click on "System". Then "Hardware tab" then on "Device Manager". Your burner should show up there also under "DVD/CD-ROM drive.

    Unsure why it's not playing. Don't want to insult you, but you did install the software that came with the burner, right?

    What burner do you have? Mine for example(NEC 3550A), I just connected the cables, restarted the computer and Windows detected the new hardware and installed the drive. For others you have to do it.
