HELP!!!!

    hey all, i have 2 routers a d-link and a speedtouch 580. At the min i have the speedtouch 580 up and running but when i plug the d-link in to try and setup it wont connect to the internet! I have all my login details right and the router says its up and running even tells me my internet speed!!!! I have gone in to command prompt and done ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew but still no joy PLEASE HELP!!

    why do you need two routers? they both won't be able to connect to the same cable/dsl line. if you need more ports, just get a hub and daisy chain it to the router.

    LOL No i dont need to but one has been in use for awhile now i want to switch but when i step up the new router and conenct via WLAN i cant browse the internet. Just says unable to locate server after a few seconds, but when i plug the old one in it connects straight away

    have you used this router before? In other words, are you sure it works? Are you connecting the router to the modem with the proper cabling and everything? You might try pressing the reset button on it and re-installing it. Does it come with install software to setup and configure it??

    I have used this before so its already setup for my internet connection and it doesnt come with any software! But if i did a fresh install of windows it would work!! Cant do a fresh install just for a router surely?

    interesting...I don't see the connection between a fresh version of windows and the router working though. Have you changed any network settings since you last used the router? Have you gone to its IP Address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.158.0.1) to configure it with your broadband username and password, so it can login properly??
