shows lots of "queue again later"
and then ends with "reset occured"

burning DATA CD's or DVD's works perfectly fine.
when disc to disc copying occurs this error pops up.
happens on both cd and dvd copying, and regardless of whether
the cd is close to full or only 2/3 full.
I've tried setting the DMA for the device. all is on "use dma if available"
but the slave of 1 of the bus is just not using ultra buffer. all others are
(at least in the device manager properties.) somehow nero's log still shows DMA off.

thought it was a firmware thing, so i updated to newest firmware,
but still same thing. changing drive speeds doesn't affect it.
updating drivers for motherboard, and graphics card didn't help either.

    tried changing media, doesn't help.

Drive was only purchased for few months.
sent back to supplier but they say they test it to be okay.

so tried it on friends computer.
    It works fine on friend's
system with exact same media and also nero 7.

    motherboard is Gigabyte GA_8I915P
Sound card is Creative Audigy 4
Graphics card is NVidia GEforce 6600
    DVD-Rom = AOpen DVD ROM
    DVD-Writer = ASUS 1608P3S
writer and rom is connected on a different connection

So that I could comment on7.2.3.2/ 7.2.3.2b, I tried it to burn 3 AVI flies which I had successfully burned using version 7.0.8.2, sadly each burn was unsatisfactory so I reverted to 7.0.8.2, tried them again with success…my conclusion..7.2.3.2b was a failure when it comes to burn AVI files.

I did the following, uninstalled7.2.3.2/ 7.2.3.2b, ran this clean tool
http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and then installed 7.0.8.2 from here
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845

Alater version is 7.5.7.0 from here

I dont recommend TDK media, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan)

Heres a bit on your [bold]Reset Occurred[/bold] error

    Hi, thanks for reply,

DMA on problem on another forum said it had something to do with the via chipset of the motherboard. something abuot the way that nero checks dma doesn't really work.

but my dma is on when i check from device manager.

Media wise, i've already lost 10 verbatim dvd's
    and 20 sony cd's.
    all same error, no luck.

and reset occured part that you quoted,
my dvd writer is internal not external.

    i'll try updating nero.
    thanks for reply.

    Tried updating to newest Nero,
    doesn't help.
suspecting to either be ide driver,
    or aspi problem

btw, creating a image, then loading the image with daemon tools,
then doing a cd-cd or dvd-dvd copy works perfectly fine.

something about reading from a drive and burning to another that's giving it a problem

HI, i got a tip from CD-Freaksthat it might have something to do with the RAID of the m-board, now i've got it fixed.

    here's what happened.

I tried diabling the RAID in the BIOS, then realized it couldn't find my writer anymore. then remembered my machine only recognised some of the HDD and rom drives connected to some ide buses after i installed the motherboard driver. so i checked my motherboard, and saw that the 3 ide buses, 1 of them were red, other's green. so i reversed the connection, put the writer and rom drive on the channel that could be detected (the red one) regardless of the driver(the RAID stuff i think) and connected the HDD on the other ide. now things burn just fine.
