Here's a stupid question, and has nothing to do with backing up games. When trying to play dvd's on my ps2 I always get a stupid message coming up and saying parental controls have been set enter your password. Is there anyway to clear this screen. I'm sure there is a very easy answer to this and someone it going to flame me for asking the question - lol. Anyway thanks.

Actually if you play around in the PS2 setting you can set the Parental Control to inactive/set to highest level and it won't bug you. Been through it meself ;>)

Sorry to dredge up such an old and silly thread but..
I can't figure out how to change it to the highest level, as a matter of fact I can't find how to change it at all. Can anyone guide me in the right direction, please.

there is a master code to unlock this, they give these to retailers sometimes because the little brat kids change the parental controls and retailers cant play games/dvd's. I know this happend with our xbox at my store and i called support and they gave me a code to unlock it. Unfortunatley the kids havent did the ps2 in yet so i would search on google maybey.

    Got it heres the info

    Reset Parental Control
To reset the parental control on your PS2, go to the menu where you can enter a 4-digit password. Enter "7444" to reset the control.

    Turn Off Parental Lock
This is useful if the PS2 is set to a specific MPAA rating. Put in the DVD and when the movie starts, press SELECT. Locate and enter the Set-Up menu. When you are in there, press RIGHT, RIGHT to go to the custom set-up menu. Enter Parental Control and press RIGHT again to go to the region menu. There, go to the Level selection and hange the choice to what you want.

OK people, I've followed all instructions on how to delete the parental lock with 7444 and all. However once I'm able to see my movies, I go to the Setup - Custom Menu, and I'm unable to enter Parental Control, it just goes dimmed highligthed. I've search through the treads and I only found one other thread regarding this, which went unanswered. Is it possible that it cannot be changed???
