What version of FixVTS are you using with the RI4M?

With Saw 3, if you want to use AnyDVD you need to use CloneDVD 2 with it and select Movie Only.

    Guys and Gals
This was the hardest one I've ever had. BUT SAW III and Lionsgate lost. Kudos to them tho. It was fun. Nothing seemed to work AnyDVD(6107) seemed to just keep reading on my benq1650, but my external LG finally got the info on the DVD and I started it to ripping. At the vts_08_1.vob(beginning of movie) it froze. Shrink no go, Recode no go. So I put it back in my 1650 and let it read it. The disc has almost 100 false vobs. The 1650 finally read all the files so I open CloneDVD(Just got it rarely used it)BUT It worked doing the Movie only with 6 channel audio and english subs @100%. Got Clone to create an ISO that I burned with Imgburn. Total time about 30 mins. In all about 1.5 hrs to figure it out and get burned disc. WooHoo!! Bring it on.

@alkohol I would hope you got it done for free. Let us know. because I failed the free part.

Hi guys I am a newbie and I just started reading the forums and it has been very helpful for me in backing up my movies. I backed up my copy of Saw 3 using RipIt4Me 1.6.4.0 with fixvts 1.6.0.3 and shrink 3.2 with no problems at all it got the movie and menus and special features. A perfect working copy. So thanks for everybody's help. You guys are awesome.

If you want the full disc you'll need to run RI4M. I just did the full disc backup of Saw 2 without an error and transcoded and burned it with DVDCopy 5. The entire process took 50 minutes on my PC (which isn't the fastest or slowest). Shrink should have no trouble, it's just slower. Quality settings with Shrink need to be in use because the files are about 7GB for the full dvd.

One more question, when do I use fixvts to fix the VOB file? Or am I thinking wrong here? Because I think VOB08 is the defective file in the disc.

There's lots of bad files in this one. Use RI4M in one click with FixVTS processing selected and you don't need to do anything. The software does it for you. I'm starting to think the wizard is just for those who like to push buttons, like myself. LOL Be sure the FixVTS is updated in the Program files for Ripit4Me. Version 1.6.0.3 is needed for proper operation.

So I am running RI4M at this moment (93% in Decrypter), was I supposed to have FixVTS open also/at the same time? I thought that once the movie is converted into my hard drive, I can use FixVTS to scan the files?...
    Thank you for your help.

after it was converted, it gave me an option to scan the files using FixVTS. It's scanning right now. Thank you.

Normally you would, but RI4M is a macro. It opens FixVTS for you if you selected it as I noted. On this one you had the option at the beginning to select FixVTS. When you make the right selections and use the app properly there's few problems.

For those not using RI4M, I've been using AnyDVD with VOBB and Shrink. So far, so good! Page 5 is my progress:

*EDIT* I'm trying for a full disc backup--NOT just the main movie. Well, full disc minus the plethora of trailers and FBI warnings, and obviously, the 99 VTS'.

Call me lazy, I'll just stick to the easy method with RI4M in 1-Click mode. ;) So far I've not heard of another software doing full dvd unless some serious editing takes place.

    Mr_Pink
RI4M took about 30 minutes including processing with FixVTS. How long does it take with AnyDVD and VobBlanker to get a Full DVD backup?

You're welcome. It's all in the software. We owe a lot of thanks to the folks who gave us RI4M, Shrink, Decrypter, and FixVTS.

To rip it with VOBB, full disc mind you, it was about normal. Sorry, I didn't pay attention to time but Friends was on so figure about 30 minutes, give or take a few. Remember, I blanked all the trailers loaded on the disc, plus all the warnings, and studio animations. So, technically, it should be shorter than RI4M.

Like I said, Shrink opened, analyzed, and is now encoding. Encoding time is short; ~35 minutes. I also used Menushrink because, frankly, I don't need 6 minutes worth of menus. I like animated menus, but not if it's 6 minutes lol.

Shrink is almost done encoding and after it's burned, I'll put it in the player and run it through. I'll post the results.

    @pacman777

Updating fixVTS 1063 did not help rip Saw III. Still only AnyDVD and Clone DVD are working.

Hate to hear it. Binkie7 told me she was having a problem with a DVD drive reading it. That may be causing some people problems. I didn't encounter any problems myself. I loaded the DVD and processed it through RI4M using 1-Click with FixVTS processing selected. About 30 minutes later I had the cleaned files. It took a total of about 50 minutes for the Full DVD backup with RI4M and DVDCopy 5. I'm going to run it through RB later, about 90 minutes encoding.

I did menu, movie and deleted scenes and 1 audio w/ AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 beta and Clone.
It's all I usually do. 91% so very little compression.
    20 mins max.

RipIt4Me did give me an error trying too read it in 1 drive - popped the disc in another and had a few patching errors but came out. Doing the full back and leaving 1 audio took it down to 65% this way.
