hey guys i'm using nero to backup my movies and im using dvd+r that are 4x max and in nero i only have the option to burn them at 4x. so i burn them at 4x and it says successful burned, but when i watch the movie like in the middle or near the end of the movie it starts to get messed up and then totally freeze. this has happened to every movie. i was wondering if there was away to set it so i can burn at 1x, i think that should solve my problem.

Nero should let you burn at slower speeds, but I'm guessing it's either poor quality media or compatibility between media and player as being the problem.

see that's the thing i've been using nero to back up about 100+ things with differant dvd- or + r and i've never had the option to go below 4x (4x,6x,8x). on this particular dvd i ONLY have the option to go 4x. there isn't away to force it to burn at a slower speed?

may i ask what kind/brand of discs you are using? you say you use many different kinds, but, it SOUNDS like all the various brands you are using are equally as "bad" as the first. i really think it's a media issue, not a nero issue~ please let us know what blank media you are using~

well the other dvd's i've been using have worked fine, don't relaly think it's a name brand it says "GQ great quality dvd" and the ones i'm using now don't even have a name, so i guess problem solved.

    babyowl,

GQ's garbage !!, Don't waste your money on them, they are very cheap so, you get what you pay for.

That's Fry's Electronics brand. Tried using when I first started burning. Always had problems. You can also buy Maxell @ Fry's or even better order Verbatim, Ritek or TY's online.

@..........newegg.com also check out the dvd media forum for other opinions.
