HI I'm new, Sony DRU 500a hardware ROCKS it works excellent! Software is totally CRAP!

Hey has anyone in australia or North america gone out and bought the sony dru 500a as it is totally kewl hardware the software that came with it totally sucks but it works with ahead nero burning rom version 5.5.17. I have burnt data onto the blank sony dvd+rw media and played it back on a standalone dvd player and it work with a minor glitch and that was a disc error but all I did was press menu on the dvd player remote and it played the data perfect, no bullcrap!

 

Yes I have been using my Sony500a after buying a Phillips228 and returning it and it is a blessing. I use the My DVD software that came with it but it is kinda slow and uses alot of memory. It depends on what you are doing with it. I have a new Dell 1.8 and I still have to keep it defragged or My DVD freezes up. Let me know how you make out.
