Press menu - type 1570 - with the remote, tap down to Defualt Key, press it, press exit and exit out to a channel with a dollar sign on it such as Sky sports 1 and let it update

    show's what I know.

actually I have one small issue, alot of the channel's are not filling the screen, there is either a black strip down each side, some have a frame around them, but most are grand.

is this common or is it just me?

my box is in need of an update - i am putting it off as I am waiting for my laptop to be repaired & I dont want to do much down loading on my brothers new laptop that he kindly loaned me.................. well that & the fact that I don't know what I am doing.

Sorry to say most channels are broadcast in 4:3 with letterboxing so look crap on a widescreen TV. As long as the Starview is set to 16:9 and the TV the same then that's the best you will get until the channels get their act together.

Use the blue button on the remote, but go to your settings a celtic has said and make sure your on 16.9 also, make sure your settings are as follows, set the box to PAL (not auto or ntsc) make sure its on RGB this will give you the better picture. the scart needs to be in the TV output on the box and not VCR, TV output is the RGB picture, Make sure your TV is set to 16.9 also.
