Hi8 camcorder(analog) to dvd's?

    Hello everyone. I have a hi8 video camcorder and was wondering is it possible to link this to my computer so I can make dvd's out of them? thanks.

    Do you have a firewire port on it by any chance?
    Probably not, so is the composite or svideo out? If you you should get a capture card and capture the video using the card and then you can edit and aouthor to DvD.

    thanks guys, actually I went to radio shack and they had something on clearance that works pretty good. I just need to find really good software to do this any suggestions? thanks

    Well VirtualDub is great for capturing, depending on what you got and its free. But if you want more of an all in one tool that can capture edit and author go for something like WinDvD, Pinncale, Sony Dvd author, cyberlink director then there are some more complex ones like Adobe premier and the such.
