i have a samsung hi8 vid camera ..only connections i see on it are "s-video" and "a/v port" i want to get the homemovie into my pc i noticed my powercolor radeon 9200se video card HAS an a/v port (the yellow slot thing) i take it i CAN convert it into my pc right? (if not can someone tell me how? @_@) my question is what do i need to do to extract the movie thru that a/v port (what program or whatever) thanks alot in advance please can you be detailed x.x this is my first time doing something like this ..thankies~!!
I dont think you are going to be able to do it with the card you have got, its only got video out, you will need to buy a tv capture card or some other device to transfer, Have a look here they do some products, that will suit your needs and you should get software with them to achieve what you want. There is also a few other companies that do similar things, dazzle, haugppe, adstech, terratech etc. http://www.aver.com/2005home/product/videocapture/videocapture.shtml easy maker lead, will do it
Definately go with a firewire conversion deck/device. Don't go through the usb/capture card crap. Firewire is the way to go for digital video conversion and really eases things up for capturing onto a computer as you won't have to deal with drivers, sound issues, etc.
i really dont have the money to spend like that (im building a new pc so mosto f it goes to that) a friend of mines pointed me to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815100112 would that be good enough? im not trying to do anything fancy just some homemovies so i can burn them on dvds and send them out toothers thru the net
