there should be a way to make links or words hidden for the person until they post a reply.

edit your sig to conform to forum specs as yours is at 55,084 bytes.
    2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
    4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

I've seen it before on other forums.. the person will post a link to say a program/file, but they will have it hidden in their post. To make the link visible, you have to post on the thread and the link will appear in the persons post.

    I THINK that's what he's on about!

If that is what he's on about, then it sounds like a very pointless addition...

Totally agree if you want someone to see a link in your post then why not just show? Whats the point in making it hidden until they post? Easily the mos pointless forum suggestion I've heard of.

ive seen that on a photoshop renders forum, and the show Heroes download site, you need to have 7 + posts in the forums to show the downloads thread, or you need to post in that thread to get the render...

but what's the point of that? it would seem to jack up the amount of pointless posts just so people could get the links.

Indeed, besides, this tactic is usually used on a lot of less than legal forums *cough*warezforums*cough*, and i doubt dRD and Ketola would want AD to be likened to those kinds of places...
