Hi all, I was just doing a spot of research into NTHELL and the roll out of High Definition. I know that it has been promised for a long time but I hear from a reliable source that it should be rolled out within 3-4 months and that it has passed the testing phase. NTHELL has been upgrading the cables around Dublin and although they were citing broadband and telephone for the upgrade it will also cover High Definition transmission. With the imminent arrival of Nagra 2/3 do you think that the Eurovox ex7000 would be upgradable ? I have included a link with the specs if anyone could shed a little light on this it would be great. I would also like to thank everyone for all your efforts in making this an incredibly informative and helpful forum. http://www.mycablebox.co.uk/eurovox-ex7000-cable-p-117.html?osCsid=6e1afb7d96cf5255d7ff961aee9764dd
Everybody is in the dark for the monent. My advice to you would be to hold off buying on the assumption HD will arrive on n*l. Nagra 3 rollout has already begun with the loss of 12 channels and a lot more to follow, so HD will be of no use to you with no channels. With regards to whether the 7000 can be fixed to accom N3. again nobody will knows if or when there will be a fix and if we need to replace boxes or not as the case maybe. Hope this helps
Thanks for your help. I have seen how good the HD is on sky I was completely blown away. I know RTE have started making a few programs in High Def (there was an article in the Business post about he cost of buying the new cameras etc.) I cannot belive how far behind NTL are when it comes to rollout. In any other country there would be uproar especially as they have the cable monopoly all sown up. Bring in competition. I will hold off on the new HD box if their promise of delivery on HD is anything like their customer service promise we may still be waiting in 2011.
