Hi guys i am wondering if you could give me an answer to this question. A lot of people cant tell the difference between 320kbit mp3 and a 24 bit 44.1 khz audio sample. I have good monitors and can, however it is slight. What i am getting at is, can you rip dvd's at a high quality similar to what i have just stated above with the audio. And can i choose the quality and how do i do so. eg, an mp3 i can choose a higher bit rate for higher quality but how do i do this with video. So basically i am after a ripping application that will rip dvd's analogous to my 320 kbit mp3 scenario and also give me the option of lowering the quality or increasing the compression if needed. What format will thos tend to be in AVI MPEG 1 MPEG 2 WMV cheers guys
@pinga You say you want a ripping software to give you great quality. When you ripp the DVD onto your HDD, the video/audio quality is not changed at all. For example, if you backup on a DL DVD, you will have a copy 1:1, almost identical with the original. Are you looking for something to give better quality than the original?! The quality loss is when you do the encoding/trnascoding, shrinking the DVD. So, are you after the transcoding software, not the ripper? maybe I am just confused by nature...:~)!
