My hitachi 46 drive is not playing backed up games, it say's Read.. Then Open Tray. My drive is working I played cod4(not backed up) and a movie on it. (it's actually playing a movie now) The game i Burnt was fight night round 4 using imgburn following this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upa1wgI0azw

I did everything he told me to do with burning, I flashed it with jungle flasher following this

what type of media are you burning yours games onto? what speed are you burning at?

the problem lies with your laser. hitachi drives are notorious for having a hard time reading burnt games, about the only thing that will work in them are verbatiums, which are the best discs to burn 360 games on. if you are currently using these, then you should look into the POT tweak method. this will make your laser stronger, and should help fix your problem. if that doesnt work, then its probably time to replace the drive, preferably with a benq.

also, you should really update to iextreme 1.51 so you can play the newer games.

it takes a stronger laser to read burnt games than original store bought ones. also, it could be due to using crappy media. get some verbs and try them. to burn all you need to do is select the .dvd file within imageburn and burn at 2.4 or 4x.

also, you should be running your games through agbx before burning anyways.

Verb discs are VERY important with hitachi's (aka "POS") I have a 46 and never felt like doing the pot tweak so my solution was to let the box warm up for about 10 min (throw a game in with a video intro to keep the drive spinning) this works for me but the pot calibration is a REAL solution. You could also buy a benq online for around $40 and spoof that. also some newer games like transformers or prototype wont play for me at all. keep in mind I have not adjusted pot though.

    and yeah, listen to wabash!!

As wabashman says, use Vertabims. If you are still having problems after that, do the POT Calibration. Search on Afterdawn for more info.

Just want to be the 5th person to agree but Verbatim disks will do the trick!!

Just last night, I flashed a Hitachi and popped in a Memorex and it failed, came on here, Deluxe helped me out, and the Verbatim disk/game worked!!
