so, i tried to update my hitachi 57 with my new computer, dont have the old one, but i put the same sata card in(via 6421a). this card worked fine for me last time. used slax last time with this card and mode b worked fine. Well, its not working this time. so, i picked up a Sata dvd rom drive for 20 bucks. hook it up through this card and through onboard sata ports. hotswaped the drives, like i was instructed, and like i suspected from previous readings, windows froze as soon as i plugged the hitachi up. so i do a little more research, and am instructed that via chipsets wont work for anything but the 78. thats cool, i see how that can be an issue. But before i go any further with this, i need to know two things...

    1. will this sata card work for the hitachi 57 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815280004&Tpk=sil3112 )

    2. if i buy it, and use hotswap, is this going to fix the windows freezing problem.

if not, i need another way besides hotswap, slax, or crosswire.... if that exists..

thanks in advance for any help.
