Man.. I'm still having trouble with the OS freezing after the drive powers on I've tried everything I've disabled, ejected, used port IO,deleted you name it I've done it. Its just not reading in windows. I even swicthed the card with a different computer still no luck. So of course after doing all that I reverted to the DOS method using Slax CD I can get in mode b just fine using SLAX CD. When I go in windows no drive it doesn't reconize it. Now I'm worried and at the same time puzzled.
cant you use the power trick to get into mode B ? If you have hacked FW on it right now just check out the thread i posted for hitachi users to get into mode B. Windows should see it and give it a letter automaticly
Go to control panel then add new hardware, search for new hardware and check to see if your Hitachi drive is detected??
Man...If I could only get past this freezing problem I would be ok. I couldn't get the SLAX CD to go into mode b anymore so I resorted to using my 360 xtractor now if your thinking why didn't I use it to begin with you'd have to see my joke of a work space. I went into the device drivers option in windows just to see what would be happen before the freeze. The Drive did show up(with a yellow !) once I turned it on but it froze as it usually does. Is there something a device a software that maybe needs to stop running? What if I did it in safe mode?
if you did the hitachi drive power trick to get into MODE B before windows even boots up it shouldnt freeze and windows should detect and assign it a letter
No I have gone any where near flashing anything as yet no where near it. Still trying to get the to just read without freezing.
