I have a friend whom I had just installed a talismoon whisper max fan kit in. I've done about 30 of these so far so I knew what I was doing. Well, i get it done and try to power it up to test it all. It flickers a sec and then turns off..look things over and try agan with same results. I remove all the fan cables and wire it all up like it originally was.....powers up ok.. picture ok, sound ok. Reinstall the fans. Works as it should.. at least it appeared to. The eject button won't ejedct the dvd tray. It will turn the console on, show the "open/close tray" display in the dashboard, it even stil plays games. I had thought initailly either the power or the sata cable from the 360's board to the dvd had come loose or wasn't in real tight. If this was the case, could that brick a drive or mobo? OR if you have any suggestions, pls let me know. I have laready tried doing the eject 2 times, just to ensure that it wasn't smehow in mode B. Thanks, AJ
if the drive was on and you pushed the cable in and it was upside down or something then you could have fried the drive. when you turn the xbox button on, does the green circle in the middle of the power button blink rapidly?
I had the guy check..... using a controller to turn on the console... the lights flash, the outer ring goes in cirlces then lock into slot 1 (where controller is sync'ed) and the middle (power) light flashes... So in essences, yes.. the middle light flashes. Is this good????? ( i bet not)
