Meritline, Rima or Supermediastore all have real TY media. Try the address like this to get to each site. www.meritline.com www.Rima.com www.supermediastore.com
Sounds bogus, if a manufacter has to steal a Media code then their media is crap and bogus. I wouldn't pay a dime for them when you can get the real thing on Sale at most retail stores for 19.99USD for 50.
rhirhi: I never pay over 40 cents a piece for my regular blank media using the local on sale brands. Yes,you can buy taiyo yuden media through the plus format of sony +1x-8x and fuji +8x that are labeled Made in Japan.Just look on the wrappers. Staples and Bestbuy have them on sale about once a month. TDK dash format may also contain ty's, I believe.Same theory, look for Made in Japan. Maxell, currently on sale at office depot, also sometimes have ty's on their dash 4x,every now and then. They also have hitachi produce some of their media in japan. Their taiwanese media is mostly ritek and ricohjpn, all very good. That's why they are among my favorite. Ty and Verbatim are among the top 2,next I would rate hitachi, then ritek.Ricohjpn also is pretty good.Ricoh and ritek are made in taiwan. Also check out fliers from office max/walgreens/circuit city. Sometimes they have memorex or hp on sale, you may want to avoid them along with the TDK plus media.
Just bought the colored Fuji's that Staples had on sale for 30 for 9.99 and they are TY's, both the + and - R formats.
... 10 Fake TYs for $4.50 - What a bargain - NOT ! Between having the MIJ Sony and the MIJ Fuji discs on sale, almost ½ the time you can get TYs at Best Buy for 40¢ each ... Fry's Outpost has them also every so often ... And the +R 8x MIT Fujis are RICOHJPN which my burner seems to like more than the Yudens ...
those are definitely FAKE TYS... as saugmon pointed out with the quote : at least they being honest about it~ hehe
[bold]F.A.K.E.[/bold] discs. And the advert has the nerve to admit they're fake too. the mind boggles.
Thanks fo all the help I really need some good white inkjet printable dvd's since I just got a Epson r200 for a bday present Which format is the best dvd-r or dvd+r? My sony dru-710 a can burn both and my dvd players will play both. Ive been told dvd-r are more compatible with dvd players, is this true? Thanks again Tracy
i personally like the Ridata Ritek G05s...that's a PERSONAL opinion, i rank them #3 behind Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim as my choice of media recommendations~ i've had hundreds of burns w/ the G05s, i like them and say they are a "safe bet" for budget-minded media~ i have a Sony dru-710a also and they work like a charm FOR ME PERSONALLY, others have had mixed luck, but for me, if money is tight...i will go with those~ good luck~
I recommend the TY printables in the +R format booktyped to DVD-ROM. I get mine from Rima.com... 22mm inner and 119 outer settings give me great looking discs from my R200. I also had to set it to 25.4 height and 25.2 width to center them perfectly (this measurement may vary slightly with your hardware). The Maxell +R printables "Made in Japan" work good for me as well, and they can be found at your local Wal-Mart... Those settings work wonderfully on those discs as well...
good luck tracy~ i hope you have as much success with the G05s as i have in the past...i know that our setups MUST differ greatly, but i have had my Sony dru-710a for well over a year now and it is STILL going strong...i know for a FACT that the sony drive really likes the Ritek G05s, mine sure does and i don't see why yours would be any different.
