Looking for some help. Pop-ups are still in large volume. I've tried smit in safemode already. Does this log indicate anything.

Also, it seems something is overriding my windows firewall as it cannot be enabled.

In addition to this, something seems to be overriding my Command AntiVirus as well.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Rename HijackThis.exe to any name of your choice. Rescan and post the new log.

EDIT... in terms of the firewall, everytime I reboot, the windows security alert icon pops up telling me no firewall is active, however it is impossible to active it.

znimswn.dll reads infected but is impossible to disinfect

    argh!!

    Download VundoFix to your desktop.

    Double-click [bold]VundoFix.exe[/bold] to run it.
    Click "[bold]Scan for Vundo[/bold]".
    Once it's done scanning, click "[bold]Remove Vundo[/bold]".
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click [bold]YES[/bold].
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click [bold]OK[/bold].

Please post back with the contents of C:\vundofix.txt along with a new HijackThis log.

Disable Windows Defender because it may interfere with these fixes. You may re-enable it after these are complete.

    Open Windows Defender.
Click on Tools > General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck "Turn on real-time protection (recommended)".
After unchecking click "Save" and close Windows Defender.

Run a scan only with HijackThis, check these:

[bold]Note[/bold]: Save these instructions to Notepad for reference. You will be in safe mode and can't access the internet.

Restart in safe mode (press F8 before the Windows load screen. Select "Safe Mode" from the menu and press Enter.)

    Show hidden files and folders.
Start > Control Panel > Folder Options > View tab > check "Show hidden files and folders".
    Click Apply, then OK.

    Delete the following:
    C:\Program Files\[bold]VSAdd-in[/bold] <--folder
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\[bold]drvviv.dll[/bold] <--file
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\[bold]znimswn.dll[/bold] <--file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\[bold]expIorer.exe[/bold] <--file. Make sure it is exp[bold]I[/bold]orer.exe with and (I) and not the legit exp[bold]L[/bold]orer.exe.

Empty the Recycle Bin then restart in normal mode.

Go here to run [bold]Kaspersky Online Scanner[/bold].
After downloading, click "[bold]My Computer[/bold]" to scan.
After scanning, click "[bold]Save report as[/bold]".
Save as a text file on the desktop.
Post the log in your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.

    Okay, looks good!

Just a few things I'd like to point out.

First, you're running two anti-virus programs. This is not recommended as it can cause system instability and produce false positives. You can keep both, but turn off the real-time protection of one.

Secondly, I don't see a firewall running. In your first post you said you was using the Windows firewall. Well, the Windows firewall is not enough protection because it does not have outgoing protection. And also, as you have seen, it is easily turned off by malware. I strongly recommend you get one. Many are offered for free.
    Zone Alarm Free
    Agnitum Outpost Firewall
    Kerio Personal Firewall
Be sure to turn off the Windows firewall when you install another.

Clear the System Restore incase the malware has infected the System Restore folder.
    Turn off [bold]System Restore[/bold].
    Right click [bold]My Computer[/bold] > [bold]Properties[/bold] > [bold]System Restore tab[/bold] > check "[bold]Turn off System Restore[/bold]".
    Click [bold]Apply[/bold], then [bold]OK[/bold].

    Java is out of date.
Go here and download [bold]Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9[/bold].
Uninstall all previous version and updates of JRE via Add/Remove Programs.

Restart and turn System Restore back on. Then, install [bold]Update 9[/bold].

I seemed to work... however, now every 10-15 minutes I get that notorious blue scree telling me a problem was detected. It only stays up for about 1-2 seconds and shuts down so I can't read the source of the problem or reference.

Anyway, quite the nasty chain of events. Thanks for your time and all of your help but I think I'm going to back up my photos, music and wanted programs on an external hard drive and format.

    Thanks again.

Eh, not good, but I don't it malware causing that. It may be 'because' of malware, but I don't think malware is causing it.

If it were me, I wouldn't reformat just yet. There's a couple of things you can try.

    1. Run Check Disk.
Go to Start > Run > type chkdsk and click OK. Allow to run and then restart.

    2. If that doesn't help, try repairing Windows with your recovery disc.

If that doesn't help, then think about reformatting. But it's completely up to you.

Please let me know how things work out.
