Kudo's on the site. Been on here a few hours and ended up answer a few questions before I even got to post mine, so certainly you know I've searched. BUT .....

I know you smart Xbox people can answer may VERY simple question with no problem. I'm thinking of buying one of the "older" Xbox's (not the 360) and was wondering if it will play my home-video's that I've burned onto DVD. I had assumed it would, but then remebered those darn pirate kids. If it does play burned DVD's what format does it prefer.... (DVD+r, DVD-r, etc...) ?? Also please note, I'm NOT talkin' about a moded Xbox. Just a regular, off the shelf Xbox.

    Thanks in advance.

    -Ari.... gato.

If you are going to buy it new, then yes the xbox does play burnt dvds very well i might add. the xboxs made just recently will play anything i throw at it with my experiences and many others. I have thrown blank dvd-rs, +rs and +rs booktyped to dvd-rom.but note you will either have to buy the remote kit (30$).You do not have to mod it to play burnt dvds although i would recommend to softmod it because then you can watch dvds without the remote with dvd-x 2 or xbox media center.

it also depends on what region code the dvd is.i live in australia so my xbox and dvd players use region 4.so if i copy a dvd i use a region crack and make sure its region 4.
