So I have done a bunch of looking around and it was said on more than one occaision that HOME is region locked. That meaning, that if you live in the U.S. you would not be able to access the Japaneese Home spaces as they filter users via IP address...

The weird thing is, my Japanese account lets me load and walk around the Japanese Home space all I want. I have been to almost all of the spaces including the Central Plaza, Mall, Theatre, Appt etc. They are all very different from the US versions and I actually like most of them a bit more.

I'm probably not the first to figure this out, I'm just wondering why the hell did they even bother to break it into regions if we can access them by just opening an account from the region we want to use? I understand that marketing strategies are involved... but most of us are aware what the Japanese have, and what we do/don't in relation..

Anyway, I honestly think its cool. I met mostly Japanese people, and I had to swith the input mode for the text entry to english every time I spoke... but I did meet people from the U.K. and from Canada... so I know others are doing this.

I just thought I'd share it with the community here if they were curious about checking it out before Sony actually filters IP addresses as it doesnt appear they are doing so as of right now.

UPDATE: I'm able to access the UK version of Home as well.. its a bit lackluster in comparison to the other two unfortunately.

I have a US, JP, HK & EU account for Home. They all work and actually the HK account allows you to download a Namco game beta from their PSN to then use it on your US account of which will unlock clothing, furniture and even the arcade games themselves for use in your Home Spaces. I have 2 of the 4 arcades (Pac Man & Galaga) and have unlocked a few articles of clothing for my characters.

More info here on the PS Forums

Yes they did/do along with all the additional clothing items too. But I have been reading that with yesterdays update it disabled/removed the clothing. But when I did the update I still had all 5 of my Arcades (Pacman, Galaga, Dig Dug, Xevious & the all 5 in 1 table top) as well of all my clothing was intact.

    HK - Hong Kong.

They use Chinese (Cantonese language - Not Mandarin if you're interested)
