    hi there,

i've just spent a few weeks making a promotional video on intervideo windvd creator. it all looks amazing, but when i burn it to dvd it doesnt play back properly on a TV screen. ive tried various tv screens and on every tv i flick through every picture setting, but on some parts of my video i have text on the screen, and on the tv this text is lost at either side of the screen.

any ideas? ive been messing about for days trying to figure it out.

Welcome to the world of overscan, all TV's do this. You tend to lose at least 10% (around the edges), sometimes more of your vid.

When making your vid you have to stay in the 'safe zone', doesn't your app have faint rectangles showing when you are working in it?

You'll probably have to redo your work, keeping text and cetain important elements within this 'zone'. Remember some TV's might overscan more than yours so don't cut it too tight.
