i have 2 pc´s and i wanted to make a network in order to share files and internet connection on both of them. i have windows xp pro service pack 2 i´m using 3 network cards one for the internet linked to the dsl modem and another one on the same pc linked with a cross cable to the other network card wich is on my second pc .i used wizard for setup networks but i had few problems with the protocols i dont know how to configure them each computer dont see the other so itself despite the local connection seems to be operational but the computers are not communicating. if someone have an idea plz help
try a router not a hub as easier to get both or more computers on the net & possibly easier to share info.
i assigned an ip in the network card adapter properties for the pc numer one: 198.162.0.1 number two: 198.162.0.2 the local connection seems to be ok but the pc´s dont see each other, when i enter in network neighborhood each pc see himself.
i think yes i right clicked on the c: than properties and i shared it with the network after i made this there is a picture of a hand on the drive c. is this enought ?? it didnt work..
