    Hi guys,

I am in the process of building my first home and more importantly a home theatre! I have been advised that due to my theatre being approx. 4x5m in diameter, that wall speakers would be preferable, as you can mount them in the wall or ceiling, but tilt them around the room, so one person doesn’t have a floor speaker in their ears!!

The problem is, I haven’t been able to find suitable speakers that I can listen to in person.

When browsing through JB HiFi, I heard this great big thumping coming from the rear of the store. Thinking this was the surround sound gear, I headed straight there!

To my surprise, it was a pair of Pioneer 6x9 car speakers with a sub.

I thought that the sound was ridiculously good and a fraction of the cost I was considering!

I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of somebody using car speakers in a home theatre and if anybody could shed some light on how this could or could not work!

    Any advice would be great!

    Thanks!

    Rob

There is no reason why a car speaker would not work in your house. If you like the way it sounds, give it a try.

Just make sure you buy the correct ohm speaker to match your amp.
