Was just wondering if you think this would be a nice set-up. I've only started researching HD products for about a week. Thanks.

    TH-42PX50U Panasonic 42" Plasma
Onkyo HT-S780 7:1 Home Theatre in a box
    LG LDA-511 DVD Player
    DirecTv H20 HD Receiver

    $3000.00

    hi, welcome to afterdawn...

i personally have the LG dvd player, nice unit, i love it..
the tv is nice too, but not ny choice in tv brands.
the home theater in a box... also not my choice.
if your a movie buff, i'd suggest buying the receiver alone (a better model than the one you have) and then buy speakers one at a time till you have your set up..
try fluance.com for some low budget, nice speakers for the time being.
my system is well over $6k.. and i am never satisfied..

    let me know your thoughts..

None of the products are my brand either. Just going by advice from forum and Consumer Reports. I don't have a very big room to watch my TV in, so I'm just looking for the best for the money. I will have a look at the site you gave me. Thanks.

just in case you did not find it... here it is..
    http://www.fluance.com/index.html

whats your budget like for this set up?
don't go on others words so much, you are the ultimate judge when it comes to your purchase.
just cuz a product sounds good at a store or a friends house, does not mean it will be the same in yours..

room dimensions are a factor, setup, power, speakers.. the list goes on !

i am here to help you, and i have other members who will add their opinions if needed.. say the word, i'll get them to join in.
