Forst of all i dont want any bad comments about my work (Examples :wow your stupid, moron, ect.)im a 15 year old teen with a lot of ideas.

So i made my own CK3 because i didnt want to wait a week for it to arrive and i was kindda bored, i made some reaserch on the net and i found an old thread for a pinout of the dvd power and i used it to make own homemade ck3. first i modded my computers power supply to get out four cables:

    1. GND
    2. 3.3V
    3. 5v
    4. 12V

    then i made this:

The two switches in the bottom are to cut of the power. the big one is for eject and the other one is for mode b.

if you are asking where do i connect this remember i modded my computer's power supply.

Give the kid a break. Hey You did a great job. I used to make my own circuits and boards back in the good ol direct tv for free days. Its very self rewarding when you set out to accomplish something and you do. Especially in electronics. Again great job.

gameover9, ever heard of an allowance? knockoff the retard bit as he did a good job for a 15yr old

luistmw, if have a hot glue gun then put some on the wires & side of switches so less likely can be knocked loose.

It would be very cool if you posted the instructions on how you did this as it seems you put a lot of effort into getting this done. I'd be interested in in making my own as well just for kicks.

Really innovative on your part. Good job! most often the best ideas come from those with little money or accessibility to buy generic things. Keep it up! You should start a whole section on cheap homemade mods!

This is really good work. I have been meaning to do this myself but I was looking for some scematics on how to get this to work.

If you could post some instructions that would be great. Also, post a picture of the underside showing all of the connections. :D

I made my own also but i didnt put in the switches for the open close or mode b. I'm just curious or correct if im wrong been a while since I've been inside a computer case. Where did you get your 3.3v from do new computers have a 3.3v supply in them cause I just use a variable power supply for mine. I used a molex from an old dvd rom drive but my computer only has 12v and 5v so the need for external 3.3.

luistmw, good job. Very good job.

The only thing missing is instructions. Or you could show pics of the underside, so the solder joints can be seen. At least that way users can figure it out for themselves.

gameover9, I know you're probably giving the lil dude a hard time just for the shiggles, but you know this is a good project that many users will build.

I got a KeyGrabber Pro and also an unused CK3, but I'll be making one of these myself real soon.

Once again luistmw, good job, whether you're 15 or 50.

you could use a voltage divider circuit to knock the 12v or the 5 volt lines down to 3.3V that way you dont have to mod the ps
