hook DVD player to speakers meant for computers

    I recently bought these Creative speakers with the intention of using them with my DVD player. But apparently these are computer speakers.

    I didn't know it made a difference whether the speakers were meant for computer or for a home theater system/DVD player/TV UNTIL I started hooking up these speakers to my DVD player. The audio cable's (cable came with the speakers) 'line out' end won't fit in the DVD player's audio out (because it is meant to fit into a computer - it fits fine in my desktop's 'audio out'). In fact, the DVD player has two red and white 'line out' for audio-out.

    I am very confused. My questions are:

    1. Can I use these speakers with my DVD player?
    2. How?

    Just an update: I solved this problem by using a y splitter cable which had on one end a 3.5mm stereo male jack and on the other end two RCA female jacks.
