I recently bought these Creative speakers with the intention of using them with my DVD player. But apparently these are computer speakers.

I didn't know it made a difference whether the speakers were meant for computer or for a home theater system/DVD player/TV UNTIL I started hooking up these speakers to my DVD player. The audio cable's (cable came with the speakers) 'line out' end won't fit in the DVD player's audio out. In fact, the DVD player has two red and white 'line out' for audio out.

I am very confused. My questions are:

    1. Can I use these speakers with my DVD player?
    2. How?

Much thanks and appreciate your time.

Just an update: I solved this problem by using a y splitter cable which had on one end a 3.5mm stereo male jack and on the other end two RCA female jacks.

Here is a link to what I used to solve my problem:

Just for reference, another way to do this would have been to get an y-audio adapter which consists of two male rca jacks, and one male 1/8" jack. You also would've needed an audio coupler which is basically two 1/8" female jacks. You then would've plugged in the two rca jacks into your dvd player, and the 1/8" into the coupler, as well as your speakers into the other end of the coupler.
