The 32" tv is older tube style (non lcd) and has component video in. I hooked it up to my htpc using component cables and the hdtv dongle/adapter that came with my older ATI x800gto video card.

It works, but the resolution is so bad, and picture quality is sucks. All the icons are huge and some of the pages are not even viewable because of the size.

Try tweaking with different resolutions. Do you get vid noise or flickering?

My tv is only SDtv. I think its only capable of 480i?

I might try the s-video cables and see if they look better than what i already have.

You won't get a clear picture if that's what your thinking, even on a small 20" crt it will still blur as you have seen on your large one (movies won't they will be fine on large or small tv),as for max resolution you'll be restricted by the tv or the graphic card or both,No s-vid won't improve blur i've been there done that nothing worked, just google you'll find others say the same thing, well with xp anyway.
