I know how to hook the ipod using the a/v cables. But I'm trying to hook it up to my tv using the s-video ports via my dock. I plug the cord into both of it sides (the dock to the tv). But I get no video. Can someone help?

There is no S-Video setting in the iPod at all. To get the S-Video to work you scroll to "Videos", than "Video Settings, and than change the "TV Out" to "ask" or "on". You have to make sure that your in the right video setting on your TV. ie: Video 1, Video 2, etc... Once you are on that Video channel than the video shoud be displayed on your TV. I've used this method and it has worked for me.

Well the connections and settings should all be the same, you just have to be sure now that you're selecting the proper video on your Direct TV box, which I have no idea what that would be. Also make sure your plugging the S-Video into a Video Input on the Direct TV box and that it isn't a video output.

And does anyone know if S-Video is digital or analog? If its digital and your using RCA cables [red white yellow] it might not convert the signal to go out to your TV.
