My mother just got a brand new notebook with a tv tuner installed. The OS is Vista Home Premium. She has a home network consisting of a cable modem and a basic wireless router, both about two years old. We are both stumped as to how to make the tv tuner in the notebook work. Is additional or new eqipment required to be installed to the home network? Is the tv function supposed to work wirelessly, or does it need to be hard wired to something?

Any information regarding this topic would be welcomed, including advice pointing me to another source of information.

    Thanks

Depending on your model of laptop, you should have an adapter that will let you connect the laptop to a video source (cable, antenna). I've provided an example below.

    Example of USB TV Tuner

Example of an ExpressCard TV Tuner (It includes an adapter that connects to the card and then allows you to connect it to an antenna or cable.)
