hope this is correct area 4 this

    I dont have any icons or anything, all i cant do is Ctrl /Alt delete.

    dell 1625

    i went to safe mode and at the top i have

    windows xp (R1) Build 2600,x psp 2.050301-1526:service pack 1
    whats this mean????

    i go to the windows web to try download windows service pack 1 and still get nothing.

    in order to get to web page, i ctrl/alt delete. brings windows management page and then click on firefox. thats how i can get on the net. other than that. no icons on desktop or anything.

    plz help

    I don't fully understand, but right click on the desktop and click view, show desktop icons

    when you open the task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) click on the processes tab and look for a process called explorer.exe if it is not there then you need to run that file.

    To run the file click File>New Task(Run...) then type "explorer.exe" (without quotes)in the box. Then click ok

    Then your desktop should appear.
