I've just done a backup of Hostage. I have AnyDVD running, ran it through DVD Decrypter. When I ReAuthor with shrink and take only Title 1 and Englis 5.1 audio the compresion is at 71%. I can get it up to just about 77% by using the start/end frame and start the movie after the opening credits and end just before fade out. (If you have seen the movie as the truck is driving down the highway). Is 77% OK? Is there much other than using a DL disc that can boost the compresion? (or am I being to picky?) Someone has said on thier 50" HD anything above 55% is good. Any thoughts on this?

    radiodude ,
23% compression is OK and you should have no problems viewing the movie. If you get an itch try out DVD-ReBuilder free version. Some people are really picky and if there is an artifact they have fits. If you can not tell the difference w/ the naked eye do not worry about it. Just burnit at a reasonable speed

With 65% or more, you really shouldn't have any quality issues. If you use the quality controls and deep analysis, you surely won't have anything to worry about.
