hot swap problem

    I'm tring to hot swap due to having lost my boot up dash and getting an error 21.

    Ive followed the instructions to swap over the IDE cable and when my PC continues the Bios check both hard drive are detected.

    My PC HDD is the Primary Master.
    My Xbox is the Secondary Master.

    When the PC continues to boot up it takes a few minutes and after the PCI Device Listing the PC fails and i get Disk Boot failure message, please insert boot disk.

    The jumper and the PC hard drive is set to Master, and the Xbox hard drive has the jumper set to cable select (default seting for the xbox)

    I dont want to keep trying I its not working and I mess up the xbox completely.

    I have also tried another IDE cable

    i unhooked my pc HDD when i hotswapped.....

    if i unhock the pc HDD how does the pc boot up

    i used xboxHDM and rebuild my Xbox HD, i had windows HD hooked up but at the pause/break point of the walkthrough i unhooked my PC HD and put my Xbox HD into its IDE Cable....
