So I softmodded my xbox months ago and have had no problems until recently when I got an Error 21. To fix this, I hotswapped the hdd, deleted everything off of it (after backing it up), and then loaded Shademand's ready-made softmod files on and swapped it back in. Now it gets to the Xbox boot screen, the white microsoft logo appears and it freezes there. I tried a few times to hotswap again to no avail. Anyone else had this problem before?

are you sure you hotswapped correctly? a lot of stuff can go wrong. But what i would reccomend trying is ftping shandmands installer. what you need to try and do is hotswap and copy your original xbox folders back on to your xbox. then you need to also copy the linux saves for softmodding into your UDATA folder. Put everything back togehter, and try and boot the game you used to softmod. If this works, use an ftp client to copy over everything in shademands installer. And reboot.

Any idea where I can get the linux saves for softmodding?

I don't think it's letting me hotswap again, but I'll try.

Ok, so I went to the xbins FTP and grabbed the saves, then I hotswapped again (took about 4 tries before I figured out what I was doing wrong... I wasn't pausing the boot sequence on my PC early enough), restored my files from my old backup, moved the Splinter Cell exploit saves to the UDATA folder and now everything works like a charm! I see the save files in there and everything. I'm going to go out and rent the game now so I can run the exploit and then I should be back to normal! Thanks!

Now be sure to do the shademands installer ok, it the easiest one, and it seems to work well. Redownload the files if you have to, and if you think you copy is a bad one, pm me and I will give you a demonoid.com membership, so yoy can dl the correct torrent there.

Why do I need to do the Shademand's installer? Shouldn't the save files that I left on the xbox install the softmod when I run them? Maybe I'm confused as to how this all works.

I'm aprehensive to load the Shademand files on there again since it didn't start when I had them on there the first time.
