    Dear member,

I have the same problem exactly like VJbob try to rip HOFD(dated on April,21-2005 20:32) First I used DVD decrypter and save it into my HDD. It's going well and got 8.3GB of ISO file, then try to used DVD shrink to burn it into DVD but the menu from DVD shrink cannot read those file (it looking for file "Video_TS.IFO" and I don't have that file after rip from DVD decrypter. I only have ISO file)
What should I do...? Need an advise!!

    Thank's guys

In DVD Shrink, click File/Open Image File, then choose your ISO.

Ok tried Nero Recode demo and it failed the same way as DVD Shrink. I noticed that browsing the video file yielded intermittent green screens with no data and the audio options - english, chinese, etc all had "0MB" next to their values. What the heck???

Now that I have Recode it seems pretty good. Should I use it instead of DVD Shrink? Just makes sense right since Nero is used to burn DVD Shrink output files anyway.

I've never used Nero Recode, so I can't give you advice on that. But I can say that DVD Shrink is one of the best programs out there and is more consistant than anything I've seen. Coupled with DVD Decrypter, you should get some great success.

I too am unable to sucessfully back-up HOFD . Brand new original DVD. I use AnyDVD 5.1.1.1. & DVD shrink 3.2.0.1.5. and receive the cyclic redundancy error. Bought and intalled Clone DVD 2. 2821 thinking that two slysoft combo might make a difference but it didn't. Fails at the VTS11-3.VOB at 183261 into the process.
I have DVD Decrypter and would rip to HD except I don't have 8 gigs free right at the moment. Just out of curiosity I explored the HOFD DVD and was surprised to find a couple of interesting files in the root directory of my HOFD dvd. For example the contents of the autorun.inf file on this DVD reads:
    [AnyDVD!]
    open = dvd-rom.exe
    ---------------------
dvd-rom.exe is an executable file that is also in the root directory and is identified by win XP as a Macromedia Flash Player 5.o file.

In addition there is another 56k executable in the root named go.exe whose Icon is a barcode.

I don't know what these are there for but the fact that the word anyDVD is in the autorun.ini file cant be good.

I've never seen this stuff before. Can anyone shed some light on the function of these files?
    thanks

i just backed a copy tonight and Shrink also froze at the 35% mark.
i then used DVD Decrypter to make a copy on my HD and re-authored (film-only, i didn't want to compress the picture quality) the new content onto a DVD+R. it worked fine that way.

AnyDVD should make it so you just have to use DVD Shrink, and you have it done. Maybe it's one of the bugs in the new version.

DVD Decrypter should work as well. Not having enough hard drive space would cause a problem though.

I try once again and download the New Shrink DVD version 3.2.0.15 and follow your instruction but still the program cannot track my ISO file from DVD decrypter. It said "DVD shrink encounter an error and cannot continue. Failed to open file "C:\dvd back-up\preback-up\video_ts.ifo" and for your information I dont have the "video_ts.ifo" file (I ripped the HOFD with DVD decrypter and save it on my HDD) and I only have file DVD_video iso file and DVD_video MDS file in my HDD
    Need your help....

    Thank you,

While using DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and AnyDVD 5.1.1, I get an error that says Encryption Detected! The disc not supposed to be protected by CSS/CPPM so this is somewhat strange! Would you like to try and decrypt the encrypted data?
When I click Yes, it says I/O Error, and that the authentication failed: Failed to send challenge key.
    Whats the problem?

decrypter does that from time to time, and what i do is click "no" and decrypter continues.

@jo3y_h: When you rip in ISO mode using Decrypter, to use Shrink on the ISO you need to click File/Open Image File. Then find the ISO or MDS file, I don't think it matters which one you pick.

@jrepetti: Have you rebooted your PC since updating either of those pieces of software? Reboot, then wait until AnyDVD shows you the info window. Then try DVD Decrypter.

I rebooted and still getting the same error.

Also, with HOFD, when I put it in DVDRemakePro and click on VTS 11 (movie) I get an error: 'Mismatch between ifo and vob info!' hit OK and then 'Warning! There could be problems exporting this disk!'

Does this error have anything to with the encryption?

I doubt it but maybe. With AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter you shouldn't be running into that problem. Did you try what elizerroj said about just saying "no" and continuing? You could also try to uninstall one of those programs and see if the other one works by itself. As far as the IFO files not being correct (supposedly) you could try to fix them using IFOEdit.

Tony, you are using an outdated version of AnyDVD, HOFD has new encryptions so you will need to update and you should be fine. The newest version is 5.1.1.1.

Jay, your player might not be compatible with your media. Does the burn play in your computer using your burner to play it? If so, it's a good burn but your player doesn't like it. If it doesn't play, let us know and we'll dig a bit deeper on this.

Good luck to the both of ya!
