use swap magic? well i have a question too... i borrowed the game from a friend, so how should i burn it? i went through some of the threads, but couldn't get a definite answer. how exactly should i burn the game to get it to work properly? dvd decrypter? nero?
Hey guys...first problem you might encounter backing up San Andreas is that I think it is a DVD 9 and unless you have a dual layer burner that supports DVD9 you have to get it to fit on a DVD5...Another problem is that some PS2's do not read burned DVD9's very well.So either you have to find a way to burn it to two DVD'5 or rip it to one DVD5 and you will lose some movies and things...I am looking for a tutorial and if I find it I will post it here for you guys...
Update: Read somwhere on here that San Andreas is not a DVD9...if so it is simpler if you have a modchip...should be just fine with Decrypter read/write and burn at 1x...and if you are not modded and are using swapmagic, I am sure if there is an issue swapmagicfix.com will have the solution soon.
Coons, One final note....many people on here might give you a hard time about mentioning that you are backing up a game you borrowed and don't own...although you can always say you are providing your friend with a service...and that is not ilegal unless you keep a copy of a game you do not own....just keep that in mind because you might get some nasty responses if you are not careful and anyone suspects piracy...
lildrez, I was talking to c00ns about being careful...if its 4 gb then you can back it up but your best hope of booting the disc is either swapmagic/or hd loader if you don't have a modchip amd swapmagic might and might not work without a fix.
I have swapmagic and it booted on first try, been bootin it up for a few days now and works perfect, nothing wrong at all!! Burnd with Ritek g04 DVD-R and DVD Decrypter @4x.
C00ns..if you are using the latest decrypter just select the mds file and burn that....it should work....burn at 1x.....
