    Sorry may be stupid question but I want to figure this out, maybe I'm asking it the wrong way... When I open up AVS6 converter it gives me the option to click on tabs of what I want the file converted to. I pick DVD so it plays in my normal dvd player. When I do this it converts the file for example--> 8mile.vob to 8mile and 8mile_1--> both containing an audio_TS and a video_TS...Inside of the Video_TS files are .ifo/.bup/and VLC media files...So now i can burn it to a DVD but I have to put it on two discs...My question is how do I take both files-->8mile & 8mile_1 and combine all the vlc media files and shrink them to fit on one dvd and burn???

    I'm not familiar with your software.
    What kind of file are you converting and what's its the running time.

    It sounds like it's creating two VIDEO_TS folders to allow you to burn two separate disks.
    The only good reason for that, is that the running time of the movie is more than the two hours nominal capacity of a standard blank DVD.

    Im taking AVI or MKV, but mostly VOB files that are one file at first. Then I use AVS converter to make them playable in a dvd player. When I go to do this the AVS converter says the output file is too big to fit on one 4.7 gb disc so it recommends I take the 6.4gb file and split it to 2 discs. Thats when I get the file and file_1. So when I go to burn I have to do it to two discs. I need to know how to combine those two files and shrink it to one disc. When I try to use DVD shrink it only lets me shrink one file, not combine them???

    You can combine both titles using Ifoedit.

    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/IfoEdit

    The .VOB files from both titles are copied to a new folder.
    They have to be named in sequence.

    Assuming there were three .VOB files in the first title:
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB

    The files from the second VIDEO_TS folder would be renamed to keep the sequence:

    VTS_01_1.VOB => VTS_01_4.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB => VTS_01_5.VOB
    etc.

    Run Ifoedit and click on the 'Create IFOs' button.
    Browse to the inputfolder and elect to have the new iFO files created in the same folder.

    Without exiting, click 'VOB Extras'

    Quit and run DVDShrink.
